We are a Living Wage Employer

Door Care and Security Ltd are proud to be a Living Wage Employer. Our commitment to the Real Living Wage will see everyone working at Door Care and Security receive a minimum hourly wage of at least £12.60 which is £1.14 per hour higher than the Government set minimum wage of £11.44 for employees over the age of 21.

The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 450,000 people and put over £2 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.

“The Covid 19 pandemic really opened our eyes to ensuring that all of our staff were financially supported during extremely challenging trading conditions. Since then we have eradicated the use of zero hour contracts across the business and I’m delighted to announce our re-accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation. We passionately believe that a hard day’s work should be rewarded with a fair day’s wage with every employee of Door Care and Security now receiving rates of pay over and above the Real Living Wage.”

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that Door Care and Security continue to support the movement of over 12,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They, along with thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Nationwide Building Society, IKEA, Aviva and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Door Care and Security, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
