Automatic Gates and Barriers

Door Care and Security Ltd has over 40 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all types of automatic gates and barriers.
Our expert team customises gateway solutions to ensure you receive the level of security needed to protect your premises while seamlessly blending with the surrounding environment. Every installation is carried out by our highly trained, security-vetted engineers, guaranteeing that your automated entrance is safe, reliable, and compliant with British Standard EN13241 as well as current legislation.
As an independent business, we offer a diverse range of solutions sourced from established manufacturers. Whether you need a brand new bespoke system or upgrades to your existing equipment, we can retrofit gate operators and other essential safety mechanisms to manual gates.
Our traffic barriers are designed for both large and small premises, featuring high-visibility reflective striping, weather resistance, and customisable settings to suit your needs. Each gate and barrier we supply includes a manual override and additional safety features to prevent accidental closure on pedestrians or vehicles.
To ensure your gate and barrier systems operate smoothly and comply with BS EN14241, we strongly recommend servicing all automated equipment every six months, with a force test conducted at least annually. Our Preventative Maintenance packages offer peace of mind, and after each service, we provide a comprehensive documentary record and communicate any necessary remedial actions.
British Standard EN14241 encompasses all powered gates and doors, including the following key standards:
- EN12453: Addresses safety measures for crushing and pull-in points, specifying force limits and required active safety devices for leading edges up to 2.5 meters in height.
- EN12445: Outlines testing procedures for gates and doors, ensuring safety at critical points like crushing areas.
- EN12978: Defines the self-test and resiliency characteristics of the transmitting system, requiring compliance with Cat 3 standards.
- EN1760-2: Details the specifications for safety edges, including materials and resistance to UV and chemical damage.
Meeting these requirements is essential for compliance with the overall EN13241-1 standard for automatic gates and doors.
